Shifting the Narrative: Innovative Strategies for Transforming Child Abuse Prevention in Oregon
Tuesday, August 12, 2025
1:15 PM - 2:00 PM
In this session, we will highlight current strategies aimed at transforming the narrative around prevention in Oregon. We will explore creative strategies utilized by Prevent Child Abuse Oregon, our statewide Child Abuse Prevention Collaborative, and other Oregon partners that seek to shift our collective understanding of prevention. This session will focus on innovative and collaborative strategies that help to decrease stigma and overwhelm associated with violence and abuse prevention work; invite individuals and organizations to explore their unique role in prevention; and invite our partners to think differently about what prevention work is and how it is actualized in our communities. This session will also share insights into how we’ve incorporated the PCA America Theory of Change to help guide many of our efforts as we seek to transform the narrative.
