Akhila has worked at the intersection of public systems and community for over a decade, leveraging her lived experience to co-design, implement, and evaluate culturally-responsive programs that redistribute power and elevate community voice. In her current work, she partners with caregivers, youth, and educators to disrupt the pipeline from schools to family separation via child welfare.
