Becoming "AI-Powered": Hidden Compliance Costs of Everyday AI Features

Tuesday, June 23, 2026 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM

Description
Organizations are being told to become “AI-powered.” Leadership wants AI. The Board wants AI. Vendors promise AI. What often gets missed: turning on AI features can create new legal obligations and real operational costs. This session flips the usual approach. Instead of starting with legal requirements and leaving teams to figure out implementation, we’ll begin with practical actions and show how the law supports them. Using three common scenarios (HR automation, AI chatbots, and recommendation engines) we’ll walk through how to evaluate new AI features and translate requirements into clear next steps. Attendees will leave knowing what to ask, who needs to be involved, what documentation to create, and how to estimate the true cost of AI initiatives.
