Bio:
Elijah Wickline (he/him) is the Refugee Systems of Care Coordinator for the Center for Quality Family Support within in the Center for Healthy Communities. In this role, Elijah provides critical supports to the home visiting system in Michigan as it adjusts to better meet the needs of unique refugee populations in the state and inform the development of the Home Visiting and Refugee Families Connection project. Elijah is enthusiastic about supporting the journeys of the most vulnerable through his work by fostering authentic relationships and adapting services to meet the needs of displaced populations. He has worked on several projects serving displaced families and children, including housing security for Unaccompanied Refugee Minors, public school integration for Unaccompanied Children and resettlement and family self-sufficiency for Refugee Families. Inspired by his extensive work with displaced populations, Elijah informs system-level change that impacts the health and wellness of refugee communities in Michigan. He studied at Kalamazoo College where he earned his BA in International and Area Studies, focusing on French language and Francophone area studies. He completed his thesis on the topic of language access for asylum seekers in the United States.
