Families and Substance Use Disorder: Changing the Narrative to Promote Prevention and Hope

Bio:

For over twenty years, Janna Estep Jordan has been working and volunteering in the field of child welfare. As the Assistant Director at Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, Janna provides oversight of agency programming and supported the development of statewide educational and awareness campaigns in the prevention areas of child sexual abuse, child fatalities/near fatalities, and neglect. Most recently leading the charge for statewide collaboration and education surrounding the need for reframed messaging when promoting child maltreatment data. Most often you find her in meetings as she serves on many statewide collaboratives and leadership teams ensuring primary prevention is at the forefront of every conversation. For seven years she served as board chair for a local Foster Care Review Board. She holds a Bachelors of Social Work from Eastern Kentucky University, and Masters of Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She is a wife, mother of two and enjoys spending time with her beloved Labrador Retriever, Floyd.
