Katrina Borowiec is a doctoral candidate in Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment at the Boston College Lynch School of Education and Human Development. Her research interests are diverse but focus on the evaluation and assessment of student learning, financial wellness, sense of belonging, and well-being of the whole person using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodologies. Her dissertation research focuses on measurement invariance in surveys for college students. Her work has been published in AERA Open, Frontiers in Education, and Online Learning, among other outlets. One of her recent papers received the 2021 best paper award from the AERA Online Teaching and Learning SIG. Prior to her graduate studies, Katrina worked full-time as the assistant director of institutional research at Mount Holyoke College and part-time with adult learners at Elms College and Springfield College in western Massachusetts. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Mount Holyoke College, a master’s degree in higher education from Boston College, and a master’s degree in survey research methodology from the University of Connecticut.
