Tuesday, March 26, 2024, 3:30 PM - 4:20 PM

Privacy has been continuously evolving since GDPR was first drafted in the early 2000s until now when we have multiple privacy regulations adopted by US states, countries, and economic/political regions, each one with its nuances, which contain but are not limited to scope, concepts, enforcement criteria, penalties, etc. The presentation's objective is to establish a baseline on basic privacy-related concepts and highlight the most important privacy regulations, their scope, and core topics. Also, we are going to compare the impact of those regulations on businesses across the globe in a way that facilitates decision-making when privacy is a factor when providing products and services to individuals and other organizations.
