DESCRIPTION

In 2025, Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance (DZCA) sent out a COSA post requesting Siberian elm and other edible tree species from municipal open space teams. The response from the COSA community has been immense. Find out how you all have helped DZCA reduce our carbon footprint and and put invasive species to good use. (Video's of animals munching on browse included). Furthermore, DZCA's Field Conservation team has partnered with Denver Mountain Parks (DMP) to reintroduce bison to new pastures, translocate CO native dung beetle species, study Rejuvra's effect on remnant prairie, use mountain lion urine to keep big horn sheep safe from pneumonia, and more. We'll discuss how this partnership has led to holistic landscape management in one of Colorado's most unique municipal park systems.
