Shannon Stage is a Historic Preservation professional with over 10 years of expertise in condition assessments, historic building restoration project management, contractor engagement to preserve historic buildings, and preservation advocacy, outreach & education. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Historic Preservation and Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design.
Shannon has worked at Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) since 2022, starting as the Heritage Resources Specialist focused on Buildings & Structures before advancing to the role of Supervisor of the Cultural Resources Team. As the Resource Specialist, she conducted condition assessments of 145 JCOS heritage buildings and managed the log restoration of the Hiwan Museum. Since 2024 as a part of her Supervisor role she has been leading her team through numerous cultural resource projects including surveys of Jeffco Open Space land, navigating Paleontological resource protection, operating a historic house museum with a significant cultural collection, providing certified history-based school programs at the museum, expanding the interpretive signage across all Open Space parks to include broader stories, and historic rehabilitation on Open Space historic buildings.
