Enterprise Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Denver Health, which is the level 1 trauma center/hospital system in Denver, Colorado. I've been working in IT for 26 years - 23 of that has been in cybersecurity and the last 15 has been in healthcare. I am the Head Tutor for the Harvard Cybersecurity Risk Management Course. I hold a Masters Degree in Information Security and Assurance, along with the CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator, along with 23 other IT and security certifications. I'm also heavily involved with the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA). I've been inducted into the ISSA Hall of Fame, and was awarded the International Distinguished Fellow grade - I served as Chapter President for the Louisville, KY chapter for 8 years before moving to Colorado. I also speak and write frequently about risk management - I was featured in the Wall Street Journal's Cybersecurity Pro series - Day in the Life of a CISO. I also had a feature in Toggle Magazine's 2018 Winter II Edition. I've participated in multiple media initiatives, most recently with Forbes magazine and the CSHub. Before working in IT/Security, I was a Deputy Sheriff in Indiana, and I graduated from the FBI Citizen's Academy in 2017 and the FBI CISO Academy at Quantico in 2023.
