W1-2B. Human EDR: The Power of Training to Change the Narrative at Your Edge

Wednesday, June 12, 2024 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM

Room 2BC

Description

For today's Enterprise, the edge of your network is constantly shifting and is more vulnerable than ever. While traditional Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions focus on technical aspects, the human element remains the weakest link in cybersecurity...But it doesn't have to be! This presentation turns that thinking on its head and explores how a shift in focus from primarily technical solutions to human-centric approaches can revolutionize your cybersecurity strategy. We will discuss the integration of behavioral analytics, user training, and incident response in what I call "Human EDR".

Learner Objectives

After this session, learners will: 1. Understand the concept of "Human EDR" and its potential in modern cybersecurity, particularly in incorporating the human element as a crucial factor in cyber defense. 2. Recognize the benefits of integrating gamification (for example with phishing email reporting or campaigns) into their cybersecurity awareness and training strategy. 3. Be more familiar with some of the free training resources for cybersecurity available so that the workforce of any organization is equipped with essential cybersecurity knowledge and skills. 4. Appreciate the value of "Roadshows" and demonstrations in promoting cybersecurity awareness throughout the organization and understand how these interactive events can contribute to a proactive security culture. 5. Explore the concept of monthly "Cyber Health Check" report for individual employees, turning the weakest link into an "X-Factor" for incident detection and response.
