As a security leader, sooner or later you’ll face a crisis. How you respond determines your perceived success within the organization. And on top of work, life happens. When you are the leader in charge of resolving a crisis, your life doesn’t just get put on hold to allow you to focus on your work. In 2018, as a state CISO I underwent the most challenging event of my career, which was a ransomware incident that took a state agency down for a month. And while I learned and have shared a variety of lessons from that event, the focus of this session will be on the life and leadership lessons learned from this event.
