F4. The Secure Metamorphosis - Streaming Logs with Kafka and TLS
Thursday, May 10, 2018
11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Apache Kafka is a widely adopted pub/sub messaging platform that can scale to handle huge volumes of data. It’s a powerful technology but notoriously difficult to configure, especially when it comes to Transport Layer Security (TLS). In this session, we’ll cover TLS best practices that yield a secure and compliant system, as well as critical techniques to maximize performance.
After completing this session the learner will:
- Understand how to operate Kafka, Zookeeper and other distributed systems
- Secure message data both in transit and at rest
- Intelligently troubleshoot cipher selection issues across languages and libraries
- Ensure Kafka is secure, compliant and performant
