Description
Session Description:

While APTs and nation-states remain hot topics, the insider threat is still arguably the most likely security threat to an organization. This session will discuss the real-world implications of failing to implement critical controls. Based-upon first-hand experience of a technology attorney litigating in Colorado Courts, this content focuses on providing insight into how technical controls are viewed by lay persons, how words can be twisted by alwyers, and why implementing controls are crucial, even when their value is not readily apparent.

Learner Objectives
After completing this session, learner will:
- Understand the legal significance of implementing technical controls
- Gain awareness of the knowledge gap between the information security and legal fields
- Appreciate the role of technical controls in the overall protection of the business
