President's Message

WELCOME TO THE 2018 SAN FRANCISCO ISACA CHAPTER’S FALL CONFERENCE

The Fall Conference Planning Committee has been working through the year to plan and coordinate an outstanding conference for you. Our goal is to provide a high-quality education experience for ISACA members and the companies they serve at an affordable price, and to create networking opportunities allowing attendees to establish and build professional relationships. Since we started our conference in 2001, we’re proud to say we've accomplished those goals and the San Francisco ISACA Fall Conference has become the premier education event for Information Systems Audit, Security, Compliance and Governance professionals in Northern California. Each year we learn from our past experience and pour that knowledge into the next year’s conference, and we hope you have a great experience!

For several decades, the San Francisco ISACA Chapter’s primary mission has been to provide high-quality, local educational and networking opportunities to our 1,200+ members and the organizations they serve at an affordable price. We have been able to do that in a variety of ways:

• The cornerstone is our Annual Fall Conference.

• Our monthly educational luncheons and seminars. We have received very positive reviews  for these events and attendance has been strong

• When there is enough local demand, we host CISA, CISM, CGEIT, and CRISC Review Courses, helping candidates prepare to successfully pass those exams.

• Networking opportunities through our Chapter volunteer and leadership opportunities.

This year’s Fall Conference is again being hosted at the beautiful Hotel Nikko in downtown San Francisco. We would like to thank the Hotel Nikko for their hospitality and good serving, helping to make the Conference a great experience.

We also want to thank all of our keynote and session speakers for enabling us to keep our members abreast of current trends and topics across the broad range of disciplines represented in our program.

A special thanks also goes to the Sponsors who generously provide both financial and educational resources for the Fall Conference.  Their support allows us to offer an extensive program and great value for our attendees.

Importantly, we also want to thank the  volunteers who worked diligently to ensure that the Conference is professional, well-coordinated and a great experience for all who attend.

The conference is again offering five tracks designed to address the varied interests and needs of those just starting their careers to experienced professionals.

  • Core Competencies
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Professional Strategies
  • Professional Techniques
  • Cybersecurity Essentials

The topics scheduled are also designed to meet the needs of the various industries here in Northern California. We’re sure that you will find many relevant topics to meet your interests and professional development to address real-life issues you face in your organization.

In addition to the educational sessions, the conference also features a Sponsor’s Reception & Networking Event on Monday evening and a Sponsor’s Luncheon Fair on Tuesday. Both events are designed to provide you opportunities to network with your peers and learn more about the products and services of our many sponsors. We hope you will find these events valuable and that you will take full advantage of them to advance your professional skills, and build your network.

At the end of the conference, please take a few moments to complete the Conference Evaluation Survey that you will receive via email. We focus on improving the conference each year, making it the most valuable experience possible for our members and the organizations they serve at an affordable price. This year, you will enjoy many improvements over prior years, and most of those were the result of the feedback we received from you: our audience.

Again, thank you for attending and doing your part to make 2018 the best SF ISACA Fall Conference yet!

Regards,

Daina DeBeaune, San Francisco ISACA Chapter President, 2018-2019
