Sam provides compliance consulting and audit across multiple PCI frameworks, including PCI DSS, P2PE, PIN, SSF (formerly PA-DSS) and 3DS; specializing in bringing complex topics such as cloud, cryptography and appsec into reach for providers advancing the frontiers of payment technology and security. Sam has held roles of CIO, CEO and director of security consulting, and recently completed his PhD, studying management perceptions on cybersecurity risk.
Sam is chair of the CSA Cloud Key Management working group, former chair of the ETA Risk, Fraud and Security committee, and active member of PCI SSC special interest groups and task forces.
Sam lives in Broomfield, where his hobbies include trail running and skiing. He and his wife of 25 years have three adult children.
