Thursday, June 8, 2023 2:45 PM - 3:45 PM

Room 405/406

Description

ChatGPT is taking the world by storm. The predictions range from a giant yawn to the downfall of Google search to Terminator style robots taking over the world. The reality is somewhere in the middle where ChatGPT can improve the normal functions and processes of our jobs. Our presentation focuses on using ChatGPT to help employees design and build incident response tabletop scenarios and runbooks. First, we will provide an introduction to ChatGPT and its capabilities. Second, we will demonstrate how ChatGPT can be used to generate realistic incident scenarios and runbooks while increasing effectiveness and decreasing manual effort. Third and finally, we will provide a demo showcasing how to create runbooks based on the tabletop results. The presentation will detail several examples of tabletop scenarios and runbooks that we have generated using ChatGPT. These examples cover a range of incidents, including business email compromise, backup and recovery, and fraud. Finally, we will summarize the key takeaways, including the benefits of using ChatGPT for incident response tabletop scenarios and runbooks. Attendees will leave with the knowledge and tools to use ChatGPT to design and build realistic scenarios while improving their incident response readiness and minimizing the impact of potential incidents.

Learner Objectives

After this session learner will... - How to specify the type of incident to simulate - How to add details and customize ChatGPT’s results to include items such as impact, business units, and industry-specific terminology - How to analyze the results of the tabletop exercise and leverage ChatGPT to develop a runbook incorporating the scenario and results, including proposed detailed steps and procedures
