Mike Ruehmkorff serves as vice president of Technology Risk Management for the Technology Risk Office at Kaiser Permanente. Mike has an extensive background in building and leading information security, corporate compliance, audit, and risk management teams. In his current role, his mission is to reduce Kaiser Permanente’s technology risk through a comprehensive program to assess and manage both new and existing risk oriented to business technology portfolios. He leads a team of tenured information security professionals that work proactively with business units to integrate solutions that safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization’s information and systems. This work also extends to protecting the sensitive information of Kaiser Permanente’s members, employees, and physicians. Mike works collaboratively as part of the Technology Risk Office team that also includes Cyber Security, Regulatory and Standards, and Privacy & Security Program Management._x000D_

Mike joined Kaiser Permanente in 2016 after serving as the Sr. Director of IT Infrastructure and Information Security Officer at Caris Life Sciences, where he managed data privacy and security across the technology landscape. Earlier in his career, Mike served as Sr. Director of Information Security for Dignity Health, a not-for-profit healthcare system with over 40 hospitals serving California, Nevada and Arizona. Mike served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army, where he led a cavalry scout platoon and served as the Movement Control Officer for the 4th infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colorado. He holds a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
