Matt Kaar is a team lead and cyber exercise developer at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI). He joined the SEI in 2010 and currently serves as the lead engineer for the President’s Cup Cybersecurity Competition. Sponsored by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the competition is designed to identify and reward the best cyber practitioners in the U.S. federal government. Before that, Matt helped engineer the CYBER FLAG and CYBER GUARD series of joint exercises at U.S. Cyber Command. He specializes in applying software development and automation towards complex information security problems.
