Taylor Kay Lively, CIPP/US, is a Westin Research Fellow at the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She conducts research and publishes articles on a variety of privacy topics such as legal developments in facial recognition technology, industry use of third-party cookies, and the legal and practical implications of employers using vaccine credential systems. Taylor Kay also tracks state-level privacy legislation developments and maintains resources for privacy professionals, including the IAPP’s US State Privacy Legislation Tracker. Taylor Kay is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law, where she served as Production Editor of the Colorado Law Review. While in law school, she focused on privacy law by researching and writing about online privacy notice failures and the privacy implications of social media discovery in workers’ compensation claims. Prior to law school, Taylor Kay earned her undergraduate degree in political science and sociology from Virginia Tech, which sparked her interest in the interplay between social norms and privacy developments.
