Bio:

Kristin Kaufman is currently the Director of Programs at Prevent Child Abuse Illinois. Kristin holds a Master of Science in Human Services from Capella University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Illinois College. Kristin spent nine years working in child welfare, with her last three years working a Program Supervisor over foster care, intact family services, and adoptions. Kristin has experience working directly with clients, as well as leading teams. She has a passion for the work that she does in relation to child abuse prevention, specifically in regard to childhood trauma. In 2017, Kristin became a certified Trauma Informed Response trainer through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Kristin is also an advocator of ACES and became a certified Adverse Childhood Experiences trainer through ACE Interface in 2018. Kristin is also certified in Restorative Practices through the Illinois Balanced and Restorative Justice Project. Kristin is an advocate for change, which she facilitates through collaborations, trainings, community conversations, and strategic planning on a local, regional, and state level. Kristin currently resides in Bloomington, IL with her 17-year-old daughter and their rescue puppy Scarlett.
