Bio:
Mary has led Protect Our Children since its earliest phase of development in 2014. She is widely recognized as “the secret sauce” in the Initiative’s success, bringing a perfect blend of smarts, heart and organizational prowess. Mary has over 20 years of experience in the human services field, focusing on child abuse prevention and intervention strategies and child advocacy. She has held a variety of supervisory, leadership and development positions with local nonprofits. Mary is an active participant in community-building activities and has served on boards of directors for local rural nonprofits. Currently, she is the Board Chair for the Oregon Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, a founding board member of Connect to Protect Kids, and serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for Prevent Together, The National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. Mary earned a master’s degree in public administration, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management, and a bachelor’s degree in family and human services – all from the University of Oregon.
