Bio:
Mark is the Healthy Families America State Consultant with the North Carolina MIECHV Team. He has over 35 years of experience using evidence-based practices to help children and families reach their full potential. During that time, he has served as a direct care practitioner, consultant, trainer, program evaluator, researcher, parent educator, curriculum designer, and site developer for programs using the Healthy Families America and Teaching-Family Models. He has worked in various service settings including family homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, and psychiatric units. His research has investigated the effectiveness of Therapeutic Foster Care with sexually aggressive pre-adolescents and the impact of the Healthy Families America Model on parenting attitudes, children’s social-emotional development, and rapid repeat births. Mark and his wife, Jeannie, have been Teaching-Parents in residential group homes, foster parents, and they are the parents of one adopted and three natural adult children, and the grandparents of three.
