Exploring Drivers of Home Visiting Workforce Development

Supporting workforce well-being is essential in providing high quality, responsive home visiting services to ensure all families thrive. This proposal presents findings from the Institute for Home Visiting Workforce Development (Workforce Institute) knowledge development efforts highlighting drivers and promising strategies in the areas of workforce recruitment, advancement, well-being, retention, compensation, and professional development. This interactive session will share findings from literature and research as well as field engagement with the home visiting workforce. Findings will be synthesized in the form of a conceptual to share drivers and strategies for promoting workforce development. Attendees will participate in small group reflections and discussions during a data walk activity. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of critical aspects of workforce development and the importance of workforce development to promote high quality home visiting services and ultimately positive child and family outcomes.
