According to a study published in the Infant Health Journal, intensive programs with at least three visits per month were more than twice as effective as were less intensive programs in producing favorable outcomes regarding a reduction in child abuse and in establishing positive parent child relationships. Infant Mental Health Journal, 31, 499–520) Healthy Families America understands that parents need to experience safe, predictable, comfortable, and joyful relationships in order to provide the same experience for their children. Yet many of us struggle to meet with families on a consistent basis and therefore struggle to provide these basic needs for parents. In this session, you will see how one HFA site was able to increase Home Visit Completion rates by 50%. These strategies include understanding attachment challenges due to early childhood trauma, identifying issues that may be negatively impacting home visit completion rate, and developing practical steps to address the issues identified. The success of these strategies manifest in more impactful family engagement as well as an increase in program revenue.
