Dr. Jason S. Seligman is a Senior Economist with the Investment Company Institute (ICI). Prior to joining ICI, he was with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Ohio State University, The University of Georgia. Seligman earlier served at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He is currently an elected member of the National Academy of Social Insurance, a Fellow-Emeritus with the TIAA Institute, a Mercatus Scholar, and an affiliate of the Center for Financial Security at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is broadly published, including contributions pertaining to social insurance, pensions, individual savings, and financial literacy. Seligman has received several grants for work on topics related to financial literacy addressing asset accumulation and drawdown, the validity of financial literacy measures, and the targeting of educational programs. He earned his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Cruz and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, both in economics.
