The LEAD Center works to advance innovative employment outcomes and greater financial stability for Americans with disabilities.  LEAD has worked for the past several years in multiple states on approaches to improve physical, programmatic and communication accessibility in their AJCs, including strategies related to outreach, intake, assessment, partnerships and more. This session will introduce participants to a wide variety of useful resources including: implementing WIOA  from the disability perspective, designed to benefit anyone who experiences barriers to employment; reviewing Promising Practices in Achieving Universal Access and Equal Opportunity, for compliance with Section 188; alternative assessment approaches such as Guided Group Discovery and Self-Guided Discovery, which are being used in AJCs and are effective with people with multiple barriers to employment; innovative statewide training approaches and pilot programs; strategies that promote partnerships that leverage resources across systems, etc. This session also will provide strategies to assist in State Plan review and implementation to promote physical, programmatic and communication accessibility for all jobseekers.
