Hilary Dees has been thinking about how people interact with public lands through infrastructure such as trails, trailshead, and signs for over a decade. Prior to settling down in Colorado, she served in AmeriCorps in New Hampshire and Montana, worked on professional trail crews in New England, and even had a stint as a small business owner focused on traditional dry-stone walls and integrating those techniques into public spaces through sculpture, public art works, and trails.
