Dr. Brooke Zanetell (Dr. Z) is an Assistant Professor in the Clark Family School of Environment & Sustainability at Western Colorado University focusing on Public Lands. A Gunny native, she previously served as an International Diplomat and Science Advisor on environmental issues at the U.S. Department of State and led the Natural Resources Management Program at the University of New Mexico in Taos. Dr. Z holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources from Cornell University, has conducted international fieldwork as a Fulbright Scholar and InterAmerican Fellow, and has published on stream ecology, community-based resource management, and job placement in land and water management agencies. She is a skilled naturalist and outdoor enthusiast.
