Shane Brown is a Senior Landscape Architect with Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds, where he leads the design of sensory-rich landscapes that connect play, ecological regeneration, and environmental stewardship. Shaped by a childhood spent exploring diverse landscapes across the United States and Germany, Shane believes people are more likely to protect the natural world when they have experienced it directly. His work transforms parks and public spaces into living classrooms where water, plants, wildlife, geology, and seasonal change become part of the visitor experience. He is also an advocate for human–wildlife coexistence and for replacing fear-based approaches to nature with education, discovery, and meaningful connection.
