DESCRIPTION

In August 2024, Mt. Emmons (known locally as Red Lady) became forever mine free. This work started in 1977 and involved High Country Conservation Advocates, the USFS, the Town of Crested Butte, Crested Butte Land Trust, the Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland, a mining company, and an ever-constant group of citizens.
