DESCRIPTION

Volunteers will support hatchery operations by clearing brush to improve access, maintain grounds, and improve facilities. It’s hands‑on work that makes an immediate, visible impact on a place that supports local wildlife and healthy waterways. This service effort concludes with a short guided tour of the facility, providing insight into the lifecycle of kokanee salmon and trout during peak spawning season.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • All levels welcome. 
  • Work surfaces will be a mix of gravel, uneven surfaces and concrete pads/walkways.
  • Water and restrooms are available onsite.
  • Participants will be standing, moving, using hand tools and walking the entire time of the service project.
  • The tour portion will be indoor and outdoor.

What to Bring:

  • Long sleeve shirts
  • Full length pants and sturdy, closed toe shoes
  • Eye protection and gloves are required.
  • Bring layers for changing weather.
  • Pack water, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
  • Work tools will be provided.
