Field Trips
DESCRIPTION
Hike through Crested Butte Land Trust’s Gunsight Bridge parcel, private land conserved in partnership with the Town of Crested Butte. This 120 tract of land is a critical intersection of multiple complementary and conflicting conservation values. Explore the parcel with CB Land Trust and Town of Crested Butte staff to learn about local efforts to protect wildlife habitats, recreation access, historic landmarks, and generational agriculture on one small, but regionally significant parcel.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Plan to hike on uneven surfaces for up to two miles. Access for people with disabilities or mobility challenges can be provided to Gunsight Bridge itself. All others will meet at the parking lot and hike down to the bridge for approximately 1/4 mile. Hiking beyond the bridge will be on a graded dirt road and some single track trail. There is no bathroom facility at Gunsight Bridge in October.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
All levels welcome.
