DESCRIPTION

The Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (RMBL) is located just up the road in Gothic, CO. RMBL is an active field station, conference center, and host to youth through adults for science camps to history tours. Research began in 1919, with RMBL officially being founded in 1928. It has protected research sites with some of the longest standing research about local ecosystems, now informing larger questions about healthy ecosystems and climate change. This tour will meet at RMBL's Visitor's Center and you will join their staff to learn about past and present research and education efforts. Walk through a beautiful place and the rich history of a world class science field station. The aspen trees are always a treat in Gothic.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

RMBL is located in Gothic, CO (elevation is 9,514 feet). The tour will walk up to 1.5 miles on gravel roads and single track trails. There will be restrooms at the Visitor's Center. Elevation gain/loss will be less than 300 feet, but there are some hills on the property.
