The City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department recently completed planning for a systemwide signage overhaul. It began with social science research, and then a comprehensive inventory of every sign across 52 natural areas and roughly 115 miles of trails. Next we partnered with The Architerra Group to develop a modern, standardized Sign Manual to guide consistent, accessible, and stewardship-focused communication well into the future. Gradual implementation of the new signs has started.
