Liza Rossi is the statewide Bird Conservation Coordinator for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Liza has worked for CPW for 24 years with the majority of her work focused on conserving declining birds. Her current work is focused on a variety of Colorado’s avian Species of Greatest Conservation Need such as lesser prairie-chicken, eastern black rail, black swift, and mountain plover. Previous work included 15 years in northwest Colorado working with greater sage-grouse, Columbian sharp-tailed grouse, and greater sandhill crane. Liza is CPW’s representative on the Central Flyway Nongame Migratory Bird Technical Committee and on the Lesser Prairie-Chicken Interstate Working Group. Liza has a Master of Science degree from the Department of Fishery and Wildlife Biology at Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Middlebury College. Liza is a native of Colorado.
