Kyle Sylvester currently serves as the Assistant Director of Parks and Open Space for the City of Brighton, Colorado. He has been with the city for 18 years, originally joining as the City Forester. His professional journey in open space and forestry began in 1992 with Jefferson County Open Space, working on trail systems. In 1995, he joined the City of Arvada’s Open Space and Forestry Department, where his career in municipal forestry and open space took root.
With over 30 years of experience in the field, Kyle is an ISA Certified Arborist and a past Executive Board member of the International Society of Arboriculture's Rocky Mountain Chapter. He has also been actively involved with the Colorado Tree Coalition, where he led the State Arbor Day Poster Contest for 10 years.
A native of Arvada, Colorado, Kyle is an alumnus of Colorado State University, where he earned a degree in Natural Resources Recreation and Tourism. He is also a proud member of the inaugural class of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps.
Kyle now lives in Erie with his wife and two children.
