Robin Young has dedicated over three decades to the field of natural resource management,
establishing herself as a respected expert and passionate advocate for conservation. Her journey began in 1989 with the U.S. Forest Service in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she honed her skills in fire management, ecology, livestock and range management, recreation, forest and watershed health, and silviculture.
In 1995, Robin moved to Colorado and embarked on a new chapter, running a private forestry business for over 15 years. During this time, she played a pivotal role in enhancing forest health, fire mitigation, and wildfire protection. Her efforts were instrumental in the creation of the first Community Wildfire Protection Plan, a collaborative initiative with local governments and agencies. Robin’s workhelped communities become more aware and resilient of the challenges of living in the wildland-urban interface.
She started with CSU Extension in 2011 as a county director, and now serves as the Colorado State University Extension State Natural Resources Specialist. She has guided hundreds of property owners in becoming better stewards of their land and resources.
Throughout her career, Robin has remained deeply passionate about helping people understand how to live harmoniously with natural resources. Her dedication to conservation and her ability to connect with communities have made her a valuable asset in the field of natural resource management.
