Volunteers are the backbone of our flora/fauna management and visitor ambassador programs. In an era where retention is challenging, many of our volunteers return for years, even decades! We will share our approaches to keeping volunteers coming back for more, including dedicated staff time/roles, volunteer appreciation events, uniforms, autonomy, and training.
