7F: Don’t Panic, We Have a Strategy! Resources, Tools, and Local Solutions for Colorado’s Outdoors

Wednesday, October 8, 2025, 10:00 AM - 11:45 AM

Colorado’s Outdoors Strategy (COS) launched in April 2025 to ensure a future where our outdoors, people, community character and ways of life endure for generations to come. It advances coordination, tools, and funding to align, prioritize, and implement strategic actions on the landscape for conservation, outdoor recreation, and climate resilience. The Strategy champions shared goals, strengthens partnerships and catalyzes statewide leadership. It also amplifies regionally rooted efforts to address significant and urgent pressures to the outdoors through close collaboration with the Regional Partnerships Initiative. As of February 2025, the Regional Partnerships Initiative is composed of 21 Regional Partnerships that cover about 80% of the state. CPW and GOCO are investing in Regional Partnerships to advance Colorado’s Outdoors Strategy by utilizing the data, mapping tools, and resources provided by the Strategy and by supporting coordinated, integrated, and inclusive planning for the outdoors that supports community values. In this session, we will: 1. Provide a high-level overview of the Strategy, including the Strategy’s Resources Hub (Dashboard, Data Explorer, Tribal and Indigenous Guidance Framework, EDI Tool Kit, and Plan Library). 2. Hear from a panel of open space representatives engaged in the Regional Partnerships Initiative on how Colorado’s Outdoors Strategy is supporting their work. 3. Host a discussion among session participants on how the Strategy can benefit open space programs, and provide hands-on exploration of the Strategy Resources Hub.
