4E: Accessible Trail Data - Where We Are and Where We're Headed

Monday, October 6, 2025, 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM

Does your agency collect and store the information necessary to communicate potentially accessible trails to the public? If you don't, what information should you start with and how can you collect it? What does "accessible" even mean? This session will focus on the Colorado Trail Explorer (COTREX) team's efforts to review and summarize the current state of key data points across local, state and federal agencies. We will go over high level recommendations from leading accessibility and adaptive device advocates, share advice from agencies who have experience collecting and communicating this data to the public, and promote discussion among participants about what is working and what can be improved as we move forward.
