Mary McCormac is the Statewide Interpretation and Wildlife Viewing Coordinator for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Mary earned a BA in Environmental Studies from Eckerd College and an MA in Teaching in the Biological Sciences/Conservation Education from Miami University. Mary has worked for Colorado Parks and Wildlife since 2002 in various positions, including Visitor Services Manager at Eldorado Canyon State Park and Northeast Region Volunteer and Education Coordinator, before landing her current role in 2017. On the side, Mary is also a lead educator for Mount Kenya Conservation Partners, an organization that provides educational and conservation support to communities and Park Rangers in the Mount Kenya region of Kenya. She is passionate about interpretation/conservation education because it combines her love of science and learning with facilitating meaningful and memorable experiences that connect people to Colorado’s natural and cultural resources. When she isn’t working, she also enjoys spending time with family, friends, and pets; hiking; camping; reading; scuba diving; traveling; and all things comedy.
