The effort to protect Mt. Tom relied on a $25 million partnership between CPW, Jefferson County, GOCO, The Conservation Fund, private landowners and Mountain Area Land Trust. Session participants will learn how this partnership formed, how to juggle multiple transactions with landowners and funding partners, and importance of balancing wildlife habitat protection and recreation in the design of the project. Partnerships are powerful tools but also require trust, constant communication, and a willingness to think outside the box.
